This blog, written for the CCCB LAB – the digital magazine of the Center for Contemporary Culture of Barcelona – as part of the exhibition Amazonias: Ancestral Future, explores the relationship between music and territory in the Brazilian urban Amazon, focusing on the state of Pará. The text highlights genres such as carimbó, brega, and technobrega as unique cultural expressions of this region. As a guest artist and researcher, I also contributed another article titled “XXX,” a performance called Geographies of Sound: A Journey Through Urban Amazonia, and will perform as the DJ at the closing event of the exhibition.
